Liberty Police

The primary functions of the Liberty Police Department are the preservation of peace and order, the detection and prevention of crime, protection of property, apprehension of offenders and the enforcement of the laws of the State of North Carolina and the ordinances of the Town of Liberty. Society demands that law enforcement officers have the strength to endure all obstacles and maintain the integrity of a saint. Officers are required to make life and death decisions in a split second while under all types of pressure and to be always correct in making those decisions. The outcome of those decisions will be studied by scholars and officers of the courts for hours, days, weeks, months and even years. We rely on our training, common sense and compassion for other individuals to guide our daily decisions and actions.

In 2003 the Liberty Police Department embarked on the direction and application of Community Oriented Policing to improve the quality of life for the community. The implementation has been gradual, but a progressive process. A number of programs and improved community partnerships have been formed to improve the positive and proactive direction of the Liberty Police Department in cooperation with the  community.

Siler City Police Department.

Besides being the largest town in Chatham County, Siler City has established itself as one of the best places to live in North Carolina.

Family oriented, with good schools, friendly, caring citizens, are good words that describe our Citizens.

To be successful, a police department should reflect the community that it serves.  We work hard so you will know who your neighborhood officers are and know that these officers are available to serve you, not only in times of need, but on average days when you just might have a question.  We are going to work to keep our crime rate one of the lowest in the State, and we need your help.  This means staying active in your neighborhood associations, neighborhood watches, adopt a street group, church watches, etc.  We need you to stay alert to issues in your neighborhood and call the police when you see suspicious activity.

Together, with the men and women of this great organization, we can and will make a difference in the “City of Friendly People”.  Our goal is to serve our citizens
