RETIREE’S QUALIFYING DAY

The CCLEOANC held the HR-218 Class on Sunday, June 12, 2022 starting at 3pm and the students didn’t leave until after 11 pm!
We had 6 students last year (our 1st year) and we had 17 to attend this year! The break down was: 9 CCLEOA Members and 8 Visitors. Of those Visitors, we had 2 from Wilson County that traveled for more than 2 hours to attend. Some of their comments were, “This place is really NICE!” ; “If we didn’t live so far away, I’d join this Association!” ; “You guys are trying to DO a lot of things; you must have some members that have been here for a long time.” At that comment, our secretary, Cathy Judge, directed them to our Lifetime Members Plaque on the wall and they walked around and looked at everything on the walls! They even commented on how nice & clean we had the place! Then, comparing us to another LEOA, one of them said that when he goes into that one he fells like “wearing a hazmat suit because of the MOLD- You feel it crawling up all over you in there!”
As others entered, you could see the change on their faces, from the tense driver who was paying attention to everything around you to going into a nicely air conditioned, clean building of smiling faces and people saying, “Hello, glad you made it.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you (Cathy) and the entire staff for a wonderful experience during the HR 218 class. Additionally, thank you for the bandana. I love Psalm 91.” Visitor Thomas Page

“I think Joe did a good job managing the class, especially with an expanded scope of material to cover and a much larger class.” “I was part of last year’s class and yesterday we had triple the number of students. Even with one instructor, the relays went quickly, and everybody was pitching in to help things run smoothly. At least from me, please express to JOE, my appreciation for the work he did yesterday.” Member Jeff Carter
